First Snow
This photo was taken on December 15th, 2008 ….. at last snooowww!!
This picture was taken looking across the deck up in to the trees while it was snowing this morning. It’s been virtually snowing all day and you can see how much by the height of the snow accumulated on the deck railing. I thought this photo was different and wanted to show everyone that some serious snow has eventually arrived.
Sugar Bowl Ski Resort has reported receiving over 30″ in the last couple of days and is open top-to-bottom. The ski season has definitely arrived … awesome!!

Ice Crystals
This photo was taken on December, 6th 2008.
During a very pleasant morning hike up the Tahoe Yosemite Trail, which starts near Meeks Bay, I captured this photo of frozen ice crystals clinging to the creek rock.
What I really like about this photo is not only that you can see the crystal formation, but how the creek water is rushing past and being sprayed off the rocks, a photo of two contrasts.
If you visit the Tahoe Photos Gallery I have added a black & white version of this photo which makes it even more artistic, perhaps?

Tahoe Yosemite Trail
Further up the trail there there was a creek water pool that was virtually frozen.
What I like about this photo is also how it captures two contrasts, the frozen creek and the Autumn colors of the forest.
Can you believe we are in December and still having some glorious autumn colors, where is the snow?
