There are a number of places on HW89 as you drive from Tahoe City to/from Truckee, where you can stop and amble along the banks of the Truckee River. I have often driven this route and always thought that one day I would come and take some photos, well today was that day!
Right now the colors around here are awesome, although we are at the tail end of the autumn, there are still some vivid bright gold, red and orange to be seen. I did get some photos that captured the colors and the river — these are posted in the Tahoe Photos Gallery, just follow the ‘Tahoe Photos Gallery’ link to see them — but I thought this photo of the reflection of the trees in the river warranted posting by itself!
I just like the way it looks and feels ‘upside down’, how well the trees are framed, how they are clearly mirrored in the cold Truckee River, plus how you can see the rocks on the bottom of the river bed.
