This photo was taken on November, 15th 2008 from Cave Rock.
It was a beautiful evening for sitting under Cave Rock watching the sunset, a very peaceful moment for reflecting on the past week. The colors of the sky were initially blue and pale yellow, followed by flaming-red as the sun set lower. Gradually as the sun disappeared, the West shore mountains looked more and more like dark shadows.
There were a few other sunset watchers, as well as one or two fishermen standing on the rocks beside the lake. A sudden ‘yelp’ signified the ‘catch of the day’, and then peace returned, apart from the rhythmic water brushing the shore.
Once the sun had set the temperature rapidly changed, and then darkness fell, another day in Lake Tahoe completed.
