I have been so busy lately and doing a lot of traveling that I have been unable to post any new photos for a couple of weeks. Unfortunately, my crazy schedule of traveling continues and I will not be able to post something new until November.

However, each time I return to Tahoe I know why I like coming home. The weather here right now is cool, especially in the evenings, and all the snow we recently had has gone, but the color of the trees mixed in with the evergreens is awesome. This truly is a wonderful place and I wish I had a little more time during my schedule to capture the scenery for you.

So, just a short posting (without photo, sorry), to let you know I am still around and that normal posting schedules will resume soon.

Homewood Ski Resort

This photo was taken on October 11th, 2008 from the slopes of Homewood Ski Resort.

Last week we had some snow on the peaks of the mountains, this week we just had our first snow fall at the lower elevations. Although it’s not much, and it’s probably not going to last too long, it’s awesome to see the snow!

I decided to take a morning walk up Homewood Ski Resort to get this particular shot. I always enjoy this view when skiing at Homewood, especially when there is a full blanket of white powder all around, it’s one of the best views of the Lake in the winter.

This additional picture was also taken from Homewood Ski Resort, as I made my descent. It’s taken from the beginning of the black diamond run known as The Face. Can’t wait to see this run fully covered in snow with skies and snowboarders racing down.

Can you believe it’s not even mid-October and we are having snow covered mountain views like this. Perhaps we will have that early ski season …….

Jakes Peak

Jakes Peak

This photo was taken on October, 4th, 2008.

The view of Jakes Peak is from beside Eagle Lake, which is accessible from Eagle Falls Trail starting at Emerald Bay.

The photo was taken on an early, wet and overcast morning. I wanted to capture how the trees are changing, I really like this time of the year as the colors are stunning.

And by the way, we had the first snow fall this weekend, albeit a relatively small amount and only visible on the highest peaks, but we did get snow and it looks awesome!
